There's no place like home...

It has been almost a month since I posted. Naughty me!

I've been having alot of headaches lately and also grinding in my neck. The feeling and pain is unbearable  and my head feels to heavy for my neck. So I went and saw Chiropractor who took xrays of my neck and found that I have 2 pinched nerves in my spine.   So I've been to see the Chiro 3 times now and each time he cracks my neck and back...i could have punched him the first time he cracked my neck.  He brought me to tears! I was not expecting it at all! So, I'm sort of feeling better. My body is a bit sore from the cracking but there is less grinding going on. 

Seb has gone....he is a terror. Kept escaping and the old man next door didn't seem to happy about it. The Dog Squad were a bit concerned too so they are going to rehouse him.

Stuff keeps breaking at home. Like, the knobs to turn the oven and stovetop on decided to break on me. so I can't use my oven and have only 1 coil working on the stove.  Then the back screen door came off it's rollers. Not a simple job getting it fixed.  Then, the vacuum cleaner hose split.  Then the radio antenna broke.  Most things are fixed now. Except for the oven knobs....the oven is ancient, so I need to get some new parts.

So, all these little tests that have been thrown at me are a little annoying but I'm handling it fine.  

Ryan has been gone 6 weeks....only 14 more to go.

It is my nephew's 1st birthday tomorrow! Happy Birthday Jack!

I've started to unscrew the hinges of the cupboard doors in the second bedroom so that I can sand them and varnish it. Should look great once there done!

Tonight I am having Indian food with my cousin Brett - he is fixing the oven..

Yay! it's the weekend!  I slept in til 9am... 

It's a beautiful day Autumn day but it's very windy. I've got to go out soon and I'm worried that my clothes will blow off the line and Seb will rip them up...or he will think the clothes blowing in the wind is an invitation to jump up and eat them!!  He loves things that blow by. When I take him for walks he always runs after leaves that are blowing around. He's funny. 

I'm going out tonight with Greta, Janneke (from Holland) and Karin (from Sweden).  We are going to start at the Belgium Bar/Cafe and then head to the Valley.  It is Karin's birthday today and too my niece Emma.  Karin is 22 and Emma is 3!

Ryan had his first cricket game last sunday. He made 78 runs and took 3 wickets...for the non-cricket fans...that's good! I'm very proud of him. That's a great start to the season. I miss him heaps but am learning to just suck it up and carry on with things.

I'm a fan of Gwen Stefani again. When she went solo I only like a few songs, but I like the new songs she's put out.  I'll still always like No Doubt.

P!nk was awesome! She sounded great, she looked fantastic and the songs she sung were the best ones!  She interacted with the crowd heaps, got down and shock peoples hands, talked heaps......she'q quite funny! And of course when she started doing her circus tricks the crowd went nuts....it was SO cool....there were lots of lesbians too!  I took some photos but the didn't turn out very well.

How funny is it that Paris is going to jail? I think so.

What's happened!?? um, my sister got married on the beach. Was so beautiful! Had WAY too many daquires (sp?) but felt ok the next morning. But that day was when Ryan left (at midday) and then Bec left (at midnight)....oh, i was a sooky girl that day. It was so hard to say goodbye. At least I know that Ryan will be back in a few months...but I'm not sure when Bec is coming back. But that's ok...hopefully she stays long enough for me to go and visit her again. I'd like to go to England as I know a few people who are living there. 

Seb is still very very naughty. He can jump SO high now! He springs into the air, it's quite funny to watch!  He keeps barking at 5 in the morning, so this morning I got up, let him in, and then went to sleep on the couch. I didn't want him sleeping on my bed. So he lay on the floor beside me. We slept until almost 11!!! I have been getting up between 5 and 6 every morning to take him for a walk, cause he's barking...and then I take him in the afternoons when I get home from work, and then I don't end up getting to bed till around 11pm!!  So i really needed the sleep this morning.  But I've almost done all my washing...just have to hang out the towels. I've cleaned up the house (cept my room!)  I'll take Seb to the dog park this arvo around 4-4:30, then I'll come home and get ready to go see PINK!  I can't wait! I've heard she's a great performer..all acrobatics and stuff...

I've borrowed a laptop off my sister's husband for the week, while they're in Fiji for their honeymoon. So maybe I might get a few posts in before I have to hand it back! ya never know!

oh yeah! it's 30 degrees today in Brisvegas! 30 DEGREES!! It's autumn for pete's sake!

geez...I've been absent for a while. I've just been sooo busy! and I haven't had access to a computer that lets me look at this site....  So, I'm in my house and it's all going really well. only a few boxes left hidden away in cupboards :)

I have a puppy! His name is Seb and he is a labrador x spaniel. He is only 3 months old and will grow up to be a drug detection dog. So, I only have him until he is 12 months :(    I'm fine with it though. I knew from the beginning that I would have to give him back. But he will be great company while Ryan is away.  

Heroes is on tonight! and Prison Break. 2 of my favourite shows! I haven't been able to watch them for the last few weeks cause we haven't had any reception. Well, I could watch channel 10 and ABC but that's it. So tonight it's chocolate and red wine watching my favourite shows with Ryan.... i really have to suck in the big ones when I start to think about Ryan leaving. I'm very glum about the whole thing and am starting to get watery eyes when I talk about it.  where's that wine??

I have been non-stop working since I picked up the house keys last Tuesday.  I have washed walls with soap, re-washed them with clean water, sanded, puttied and painted them. I have laid drop sheets, taped up light switches and removed curtains. I have dug out trees, ripped out plants, cut back trees and ferns, chopped, raked and piled it all up in a heap.  I have dusted and wiped out cupboards, draws and shelves. I've moved pavers from one of the yard to the other. I learnt how to groute tiles and use silicone on kitched sinks and bathroom basins.  And NO, I didn't inject silicone into my boobs :P

So, I am exhausted.....

But, so much got done to the house on the weekend.  There were so many people there helping out. It was a very productive weekend! The lounge, dining, kitchen, laundry, 3 x bedrooms and hallways got painted, double coat.  And yesterday, my mum finshed putting contact on the shelves in the kitchen. We have to use contact cause the kitchen cupboards are chipboard. But it looks great! I took some photos of 'before" and "after".  The carpets got cleaned yesterday and the shag pile is looking fluffy again! And it removed the "old person" smell.  So ryan and I can start moving our furniture in.!  SO EXCITING! I can't wait for our first night in our first home. We should be fully moved in by the weekend, and yes Bec, there will be a bed for you.

I am officially a home owner!!
Ryan & I collected the keys this afternoon, went around to the house, spent some time just sussing out keys and doors and lights and stuff. We let some mortein bombs go and will pop around tomorrow to start preparing for painting on the weekend!

I'm so happy. I still can't believe I finally bought a house!

It rained again today and the temperature at night is quite chilly.

I have been getting to work at the stupid time of 7:15.  I get up at about 6:15 and am ready by the time my friend Kim picks me up at 6:45. Mind you, I am SUPPOSED to get up at about 5:30 when my alarm goes off by I snooze it over and over til I realise it's 6:15.

Heros and Prison Break are on tonight. But I'm so tired I could go to bed now *YAWN* 
I consider Wednesday's to be my 'late nights' cause Prison Break is on at like 9:30! Which means I don't get to bed to close to 11.......

I've been thinking alot lately about ryan leaving. it makes me sad. I'm going to be such a mess that day. AND I found out that Bec will be leaving for Ireland that day too - double sadness :(  
And to think that I'll just have to carry on with my  job, Monday to Friday, in the same ol Bris Vegas is quiet depressing. Ah, I'm just jealous.  Ever since I got back from Holland, all I've wanted to do is go back.  There is so much more to see. I want to go to Italy, Greece, Turkey....

Anyway, on to other things....

Typical bloody Monday - bus was packed, it was stinking hot even thought it was raining, I had to stand on the bus and all the people who were sitting down didn't even open the top windows in case they were to get a bit of rain on them! How inconsiderate!

I've been hiding...

SO!  I'm now out of the dark.

What's news you ask? Well, I've just bought a house with my boyfriend. Should be living in it by the end of March...YIPPEE! we have to sand, paint and clean before we move in, which is a HUGE job...but lucky me I have a big family :)

My bf is off to Holland soon for about 5 months :(     hmm, think I'll be a little lonely while he's gone. It's not that I don't like my own company, cause I can handle myself (to a degree) and I have a great family and circle of friends...but...but....he's my man. I know it sounds wanky but we've been together for a while now and, well, he's in my life every single bloody day and i'm going to bloody miss him *sighs*

so, i wouldn't mind a bit of advice as to what I should do to keep occupied during that time.  I've joined a gym near where I work in the city and the good thing is that there's one near my new house. But I don't want to become a gym junkie!! Maybe with the new house I'll be super busy and time will just FLY BY!  I hope.....
